Insect pheromone trap counts for the last week were steady to slightly lower for all species as a whole. Bollworm catches remained fairly high in some delta counties. Typically this week would have been the peak catch for second generation southwestern corn borer moths. This year it appears the flight was early and light in most regions.  However, several fields in Leflore County had trap captures that exceeded 200 moths per trap, with one field with captures of 500 moths per trap. Also, one field in Coahoma County had trap captures that ranged from 130 to 200 moths per trap and one field in Pontotoc County had captures of 150 moths per trap.
