Pheromone Trap Counts, June 26, 2015

Bollworm pheromone trap counts were similar to last week and remain fairly low compared to historical averages. Tobacco budworm counts were slightly higher this week, but are still low fairly low. Southwestern corn borer trap catches have started to increase in some regions. Both Issaquena and Leflore counties had a trap that was over threshold, but no county as a whole was over threshold. If corn is not yet at milk stage in the south and central Delta areas, you should be monitoring with local pheromone traps or scouting for southwestern corn borer eggs and larvae. There is minimal pressure in all other areas of the state at this time, but the North Delta normally is just 1-2 weeks behind the south Delta, so growers should remain vigilant.TrapCounts6-27-15
