A series of field days will be held throughout Mississippi in 2015 which will highlight crops with new and developing herbicide and insect trait technologies. Field days will be held at the following locations:

  • Dundee – Douglas and Chris Hood Farms – July 7
  • Brooksville – MSU Black Belt Branch Experiment Station – July 15
  • Starkville – R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center (North Farm) – July 16

Some aspects will be universal at all field days while some unique topics will be present at individual locations. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend one or more of these field days to hear the latest in trait technology, weed control, pesticide application technology, and other topics.

Certified Crop Advisor CEU’s have been approved and will consist of 1.5 hours of crop management and 1.5 hours of pest management. In addition, pesticide applicator credits for categories 1A and 10 as well as consultants license renewal for weed control have also been approved.

Advance registration is free but not required. Lunch or dinner will be served. Please register in advance; however, registration is not required. An online registration form is available.

 

Dundee – July 7
The Row Crop Technology Showcase at Dundee will be held on July 7 from 9 am until noon with lunch to follow at the Dundee Community Center. Please arrive for registration at 8:30. Plot tours will start promptly at 9 a.m. The tour will be held at Hood Farms which is located 2 miles west/northwest of Dundee, MS on Dundee Road. The following field demonstrations will be highlighted at Dundee:

  • Enlist Weed Control System (Cotton)
  • XTend Weed Control System (Cotton)
  • Enlist Weed Control System (Soybean)
  • Crop Tolerance to off-target auxin herbicides (tank contamination / drift)
  • Application Technology (Spray Drift Mitigation)

 

Brooksville – July 15
The Row Crop Technology Showcase at Brooksville will be held on July 15 from 2 pm until 5 pm with dinner to follow at the Black Belt Branch Experiment Station. Please arrive for registration at 1:30 pm. Plot tours will start promptly at 2 pm. The tour will be held at the Black Belt Branch Experiment Station located just north of Brooksville, MS on Highway 45. The following field demonstrations will be highlighted at Brooksville:

  • Enlist Weed Control System (Cotton)
  • XTend Weed Control System (Cotton)
  • Enlist Weed Control System (Soybean)
  • XTend Weed Control System (Soybean)
  • Balance Bean Weed Control Technology
  • Crop Tolerance to off-target auxin herbicides (tank contamination / drift)
  • Application Technology (Spray Drift Mitigation)
  • Inzen Grain Sorghum Weed Control & Tolerance
  • Bolt Roundup Ready Soybean

 

Starkville – July 16
The Row Crop Technology Showcase at Starkville will be held on July 16 from 9 am until noon with to follow at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center (North Farm). Please arrive for registration at 8:30 am. Plot tours will start promptly at 9 am. The tour will be held at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center located at 555 Technology Blvd. which is just off of Highway 182 East The following field demonstrations will be highlighted at Starkville:

  • XTend Weed Control System (Cotton)
  • Enlist Weed Control System (Soybean)
  • XTend Weed Control System (Soybean)
  • Crop Tolerance to off-target auxin herbicides (tank contamination / drift)
  • Application Technology (Spray Drift Mitigation)
  • Inzen Grain Sorghum Weed Control & Tolerance
