The 2016 Insect Control Guide for Agronomic Crops is now available online. Hard copies will be available in January.

Notable changes this year include the removal of pyrethroid insecticides for bollworm control in all crops due to resistance and poor control. This recommendation is not new for Mississippi but has only been a “verbal” recommendation until now. Another big change is the addition of a dynamic threshold for bollworm (podworms) in soybeans. We have completed a very large multistate project that has allowed us to develop new thresholds that account for commodity costs and price of treatment for bollworms in reproductive stage soybeans.

Hard copies should be available in county offices by the end of January.
