Although a large number of cotton acres have received at least one application of harvest aid, many acres still are in need of a second harvest aid application.  For those still waiting to make a first harvest aid application, keep in mind that temperatures are predicted to change dramatically next week which will have a large impact on harvest aid performance.  Temperatures are predicted to be in the upper 70s/lower 80s for the highs and upper 50s at night.  Be sure to adjust your harvest aid programs accordingly, particularly on those acres that have not yet received a harvest aid application.

The annual Mid-South Cotton Defoliation Guide has been updated and can be accessed at the end of this article. This guide is intended to be used to assist those who make harvest aid application decisions.  However, always use personal experience and some common sense along with the guide provided below.
