One of our MSU row rice cooperators this year sent me the following pictures of his row rice and conventional levee fields.  He has burned the row rice field and it is ready to plant.  The conventional levee field had the levees knocked down last fall, with all the rain, was still holding water Monday.  We will publish updated pictures as sone as the beans are emerged.

 

Here are some examples of newly emerged soybeans planted no-till into an previous furrow irrigated rice field in 2018.  Asked the grower this morning about what cultural practices he followed before planting?  He commented, “ran the combine”.
