Several traps exceeded thresholds for the week ending on July 5. As a reminder, our current thresholds are 50 southwestern corn borer moths within a weeks time for corn that has not yet tasseled.  From tassel to dent, the threshold is 100 southwestern corn borer moths in a weeks catch. Sprays should be made 7 days after the traps reach those thresholds at the respective growth stages. Refer to the 2019 Mississippi Insect Control Guide for insecticide choices.
