This soil moisture monitoring showcase provides an opportunity for the Mississippi agricultural community to learn more about the soil moisture sensors and accompanying telemetry services currently on the market. For 2020, 11 soil moisture monitoring systems from nine companies through six vendors were installed on the same field (33.431° N, 90.957° W) at the West Farm of the Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Center. To access objective information about each system and to view its live data, please click on the corresponding link below.

This program is a contribution of the National Center for Alluvial Aquifer Research (NCAAR), the Mississippi State University Extension Service, and the Row-Crop Irrigation Science Extension and Research (RISER) initiative. NCAAR is supported by the Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture, under Cooperative Agreement number 58-6001-7-001. RISER is supported jointly by Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board, Mississippi Corn Promotion Board, Mississippi Rice Promotion Board, Cotton Incorporated, and Mississippi Peanut Promotion Board.
