Bollworm moth pheromone trap catches varied depending on the region of the state. While trap catches in all counties in the Northeastern part of the state were down to single digits this week, catches in the Delta region were up sharply to levels not previously observed at this time of year. The reasons for this sharp increase in the Delta region are not clear. While most crops are no longer vulnerable to bollworm feeding, any late cotton or soybeans in the Delta region could see substantial bollworm pressure. This will be the last trap count report for 2023 as most crops are no longer vulnerable to these pests.
